I recently received a foam cannon upgrade thanks to the guys over at MJJC Foam Cannon. This upgrade came just in time as my old cannon was getting a bit tired after serving me well for the past number of years.
The previous lance I was using was also an MJJC product, but an older version with a completely different design.
I wasn’t aware that they had now released a “Pro” version which came with a few design upgrades over the previous model, which promised a better overall experience. Needless to say, I was eager to get my hands on it.
One issue I had with my old lance was that it was shipped from China and I had to wait several weeks for the parcel to arrive. With this new model, I was able to have it at my door within 7 days via courier service.
Below is how the box arrived to me.
On the rear of the box were some details of the improvements over the old version.
- Adjustable Spray Direction ( Can now be sprayed both verticle and horizontal)
- Thicker Foam (30% improvement)
- Updated connection system for easy use with different types of pressure washer connections
- Bigger Tank (more than 1200ml )
- Leak Proof Tank Cap
- More Robust and Durable
- Less Noise when running
MJJC Foam Cannon Pro – Initial Impressions
The first thing I noticed when unboxing was the quality of the materials used which were far better than I was anticipating. This cannon has a very nice weight to it and you can tell that the quality of the plastic and fittings are excellent.
The plastics used at the top of the product are extremely tough and durable feeling. I do not doubt that you could drop this product 100 times and it would withstand it!
Everything on this cannon seems re-enforced and sturdy which is excellent and gives confidence that this product will last a long time.
One nice touch that I particularly liked was the MJJC engraving, I haven’t seen this done before – Very cool
MJJC Foam Cannon Pro – Setting Up
Assembly of the Cannon is a 1-minute job with no real need to follow any instructions, once you see the parts it is quite self-explanatory.
The only real assembly I had to do was connect my Karcher Adapter(which came with the cannon) and the suction tube straw.
Another nice touch with this product is that there is a weighted ball at the end of the suction tube to keep it at the bottom of the tank. ( Circled in the above picture )
This means that you can point the gun at any angle and it should still pick up the solution from the reservoir.
Once you complete these simple steps you are good to go. The only other thing you need to do is fill the reservoir with your favourite snow foam – my current foam of choice is Bilt Hamber Auto Foam. Below is the cannon pictured with my old cannon for comparison.
MJJC Foam Cannon Pro – My Thoughts After Using
I was excited to try out the new foam cannon and put it through its paces and I must say it did not disappoint. Using the cannon couldn’t be easier and I feel that anybody could pick one of these up and get great results.
The controls on the lance give some nice variety in spray patterns and you can easily achieve a wider or more narrow spray depending on which way you turn the nozzle. You can also flip easily between a verticle or horizontal spray.
You also have full control of how much air you want to add to the mixture using the dial on top of the cannon ( you can increase or decrease the thickness of the foam using this)
I believe this cannon is priced around $59 in the US which seems like pretty good value compared to some of the more expensive brands available, and I have no doubt that this cannon would match or outperform most of them.
Combined with my ever trusty Bilt Hamber auto foam it left the TT looking in top condition.
First impressions on this cannon are excellent and looking forward to using it again during my next maintenance wash.
